4 NYPD officers injured after being struck by car, driver arrested – Staten Island

May 30 2021 Staten Island, New York – 4 NYPD officers were struck and injured on Staten Island this Sunday morning, police said.

The officers were setting up barriers by Livermore and Forest avenues at the time, according to officials and video of the scene.

Three of the officers were inside a vehicle and the fourth was outside when a pickup truck rear-ended the police car, cops said.

According to police, all 4 officers were taken to the local hospital with non life threatening injuries, 1 officer refused medical attention. CIS is on the scene investigating, indicating life threatening injuries present.

A 39-year-old male driver remained at the scene and was arrested, police said.

According to 1010 WINS sources, the driver may have been drunk. He is awaiting charge
