The Vessel at Hudson Yards Reopened With Changes for Suicide Prevention

May 28 2021 Manhattan, New York – On the reopening day of the Vessel, first hour is completely sold out. One of NYC Newest landmarks has reopened with suicide prevention changes .

The Vessel, which opened in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards in 2019, was built to be “interactive artwork,” on $25 billion Hudson Yards development, offering an experience of culture, art, and commerce all in one place.

But within one year, three young adults died by suicide.

After months of being shut down, today The Vessel has reopened for visitors, with some changes. The staff and security have tripled in size and visitors must be in groups of two or more, according to a spokesperson.
