Woman Arrested and Charged after Driving Through Police Line in October

On October 27 2020, in Brooklyn New York, a female drove through a line of police in Brooklyn during a large police response to a BLM protest.

A large crowd gathered to protest in solidarity with Philadelphia protests over the death of Walter Wallace Jr. Who was shot ten times by the police, he was holding a knife according to authorities. After some windows were smashed and small fires were set along the protest route, cops surrounded the group on Atlantic Ave between Smith and Boerum Pl and moved in to make arrests.

When they tried to stop one car from leaving, the driver said “I’m trying to go home,” and closed the door. Police then broke at least one of the cars windows with baton.

The car then drove through the line of police blocking the vehicle in the front, injuring two officers , causing pain and swelling to the left side of one officer and laceration to the right wrist of second officer, according to the NYPD.

Today, 26-year-old female driver, was charged with: Assault, Attempted Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Obstructing Gov Administration, Attempted Unlawful Fleeing Police Officer in Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving.
