Suspects Arrested and Charged with Hate Crime after Synagogue Incident: NYPD

Two males have been arrested and charged with aggregated harassment and hate crime after harassing 4 Jewish men outside a Synagogue.

On Saturday, May 22, 2021 around 7pm in front of 4911 16 Avenue (Agudath Israel of Sixteenth Avenue), a blue Toyota Camry parked and three male occupants of the vehicle began to yell anti-Jewish statements at a group of four male Jewish victims who were in front of the location, said police.

The four victims entered the synogogue and locked themselves inside, at which point two of the male suspects exited the Toyota Camry and began to bang on the front door of the synogogue, according to police and security tapes.

Suspects then kicked the passenger side mirror of an unoccupied parked 2014 Audi Q7 parked, causing more than $250 in property damage, according to police and security tapes.

Suspects then fled the location in the blue Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on 16 Avenue.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force was investigating and have arrested and charged two people with aggregated harassment and hate crime among other charges.
