Thousands Marched through Brooklyn for Palestine

May 15 2021 Brooklyn, New York – At least 5,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on Saturday night to protest the actions of Israel and stand with the people of Palestine.

The crowd waved flags, sang, revved their engines, burned their tires, to make noise and celebrate the Palestinian people and heritage.
Many condemned the actions of Israel and some also criticizing US support for Israel.
At one point as cars were doing burnouts, a car caught fire, but was extinguished before any damage could be done.
Supermodel Bella Hadid joined the crowd almost appearing from the smoke of burning rubber, waving a flag, wearing traditional dress, and giving a peace sign.

A much smaller part of the crowd, eventually took to the highway, blocking traffic as they marched along the Gowanus Expressway. The large crowd who did not join them, repeatedly asked them to come back saying “we don’t do that, we are supposed to stay in Bay Ridge”.

As they approached the entrance to the Verrazano Bridge, the NYPD blocked the freeway, physically stopping at least one protester from proceeding further.
At one point a large group stopped to pray on the highway.
