Man Found Severely Injured in the Grand Central Parkway, is pronounced dead

On Friday, May 14, 2021 at approximately 11:43pm, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck within the westbound lane of the Grand Central Parkway in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue.

Upon arrival, cops say they discovered a unidentified adult male pedestrian, unconscious and unresponsive, lying in the roadway with severe body trauma.

Victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital- Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the male was running across the Grand Central Parkway when he was struck within the left lane by a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, operated by a 20-year-old male. The driver of the Jetta remained at the scene and was not injured. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
