33 year-old male shot and killed in Astoria

On Monday, May 10, 2021, just after midnight, police where called to location where a male was shot, at Vernon Boulevard and 41 Avenue.

Cops found a 33-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the chest.

EMS brought the victim to Cornell Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation determined that the male was sitting in the front seat passenger of a vehicle stopped at the corner of 12 Street and 40 Avenue when two unknown individuals approached the vehicle and shot at him.

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.



The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
