Two People Shot, One Dead at playground in the Bronx

Thursday May 6, Bronx, New York –

Late Thursday night at around 11:28 p.m., police responded to shots fired within Gouverneur Park.

Upon arrival, the victim was an unidentified male who was unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the torso area, says NYPD officers on scene. EMS had then transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police were also notified to a second victim, a 24-year-old woman who walked into NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln, with a gunshot wound to her arm. The woman is currently reported to be in stable condition.

So far only one has been taken into custody following the investigation, however it remains ongoing. The identity of the male victim has yet to be disclosed to the public.
