Protesters make an Oil Splash in Midtown to Stop All Pipelines

May 7 2021 – MANHATTAN, New York: Activist group Extinction Rebellion gathered outside of New York Public Library and marched to Bank of America building where they set up a mock pipeline that spilled oil all over the ground in front of the building.

The demonstration was performed as a part of nationwide protest to stop the oil pipeline called “Line 3” from being built in the Central US States. Line 3 is a pipeline that would pump oil collected from tar sands from Alberta, Canada to Wisconsin.

The oil the group spilled on the sidwalk at Bank of America tower is actually chalk paint, the group used large jugs of water after the event to wash it into the gutter.
