1 killed, 4 injured in New Rochelle shooting

May 1, 2021, NEW ROCHELLE, New York –

Police responded to a call about a late night shooting located at the corner of Horton Avenue and Brook Street in New Rochelle. One person was killed and four others were injured.

The shooting, which took place around five minutes before midnight, had claimed the life of a 29-year-old man from Brooklyn. The bullet, which had struck the 29-year-old in the neck, led police to pronounce him as deceased.



The second victim took a bullet to the back, prompting EMS to perform surgery at a nearby hospital.

The other three had left the incident with minor injuries, says the hospital.

According to ABC 7 News, An hour after the incident, police were called to a nearby courtyard on Main Street where ten more bullet casings were found. The police discovered that a six-story apartment building had been shot at the third, fourth, and fifth floors from inside the courtyard.

Detectives have taken the bullet casings into consideration in their investigation. The authorities are still unsure if these two shootings are related but have continued with their investigation.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed to the public.

On the same night, May 2nd, 2021 – Brooklyn, NY: In the confines of the 70th Precinct, officers responded to an initial call of officer shot at Beverly Rd. and Flatbush Ave. to find two gunshot victims, one critical, and no officer shot at the location. Police were on the look out for a sedan that is believed to have fled southbound on Flatbush Ave. shortly after the shooting took place.
