On Friday, April 23, 2021, just after midnight, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in the back of Bayview Houses at 1540 East 102 Street.
Police discovered a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Preliminary information from police is that the victim was involved in a dispute with five unknown males before he was shot.
The group of five was seen fleeing from the scene just after the shot was fired.
EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
