Opening Day at Yankee Stadium with limited capacity due to Covid19

April 1 2021 Bronx, NEW YORK – Today is the grand opening of Yankee Stadium for its first season since the pandemic began. Only 12 games will be allowed in this season, all fans must wear masks.

First game will begin at 1:05 pm, this afternoon, New York Yankees vs The Toronto Blue Jays



In preparation for fans arrival to the opening , the Yankees stated that they have worked closely with the State, Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYC , Major League Baseball, and other health and safety experts to utilize the best and most responsible practices in the facility.

The Stadium will be operating at 20% capacity, guests will be seated in “pods,” separated by empty seats, COVID-related signage will be posted throughout the building.

Hand sanitizer dispensers have been placed in all publicly trafficked locations.
