March 16 2021 – MANHATTAN, New York:
A 3-alarm fire tore through the upper floors of high rise building in midtown on Tuesday. Starting around 11:30am at 100 W58th street, firefighters received calls for a fire in the walls of a penthouse apartment on the 15th floor.

Callers to 911 in the building were instructed to shelter in place as the fire department battled the blaze which began to spread to the 16th and 17th floors. Heavy fire was reported in the ceiling of the 16th floor before the third alarm was declared.
Thick smoke could be seen in the area of 58 and 57th streets.
The fire was still burning as of 1:30pm.
