Another Major Power Outage in the Bronx’s Co-Op City

February 28 2021 Bronx, New York : A major power outage in Co-op City k, Bronx on Sunday is affecting thousands of residents in the same buildings that lost electricity Friday.

Co-op City Police posted an update around 1pm: “The power plant has restored full power to most of the buildings and partial power to others. Bldg 8 will soon be powered up by a generator. The Bldg 9 Association Rm is open for residents to warm up, get water, and charge their mobile devices.”

When a transformer fire knocked out power in the same buildings few days ago on Friday. Ada Longman, a 73-year-old resident ,collapsed and died after attempting to hike up the stairs with her portable oxygen tank, to her 19th-floor apartment during that outage.
