“Ghost Town” Times Square Packed with people Outside NYPD FROZEN ZONE on NYE 2021

January 1st 2020 – MANHATTAN, New York: Large crowds gathered around Times Square last night outside of the NYPD “Frozen Zone” despite orders to disperse and the police ordering people not to come. It was a New Year’s celebration unlike any other, the end of a notable year filled with riots, a pandemic, political upheaval, and just a general foulness.

The city ordered that Times Square be frozen to the public, however the crowds still came. Thousands of people still convened in the area around Times Square vying for a spot to catch the famous ball drop on a year unlike any in decades.
