1 Worker Dead, 1 Critically Injured in a Wall Collapse in Brooklyn

December 28 2020 – BROOKLYN, New York: 1 person dead, 1 injured in wall collapse in Sunset Park (42nd street and 5th Avenue) Brooklyn, police say. Units on scene were reportedly digging them out of the collapse.

Dozens of firefighters rushed to pull workers to safety who were trapped under debris.

One worker was pronounced dead at the scene, another one was rushed to the hospital.

FDNY Chief Boylan said that work was being done on a retaining wall when it collapsed at a 90 degree angle on two workers.
