Fearing Riots, Soho Stores Boarding Up The Night Before Election Day

November 2 2020 Manhattan , New York Many stores are seeing getting boarded up in Soho this evening, the area that was hit hard during riots in June this year. Many stores are still working on securing the store fronts the night before the election day.

New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Monday that there was no specific threat, but the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group is preparing ‘for the worst’.

An unverified letter surfaced sent out by School of Visual Arts to their staff and students, saying “Be aware that NYPD is implementing “freeze zones” restricting movement for pedestrians and automobiles in the area from 14th to 23rd streets along Broadway, Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenues”.

We were unable to verify that information at the time of this article publication.
