Fatal Hit and Run in Manhattan

Early Monday morning (September 28) police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious male in front of 290 Lenox Avenue.

Male was unconscious and unresponsive, with severe head trauma, he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the male pedestrian was struck while at the location by an unknown vehicle, which then fled the scene, traveling north bound on Lenox Avenue. The vehicle has not been identified and the operator has not been apprehended.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
