Thousands March Through NYC and Shut Down Bridge to Protest for Breonna Taylor

September 23 2020 – MANHATTAN, New York: Protesters gathered at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn and outside of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan to rally against the grand jury’s decision in the case surrounding Breonna Taylor’s death in Louisville.
Thousands marched through the streets, the Brooklyn group shut down the Manhattan Bridge as they crossed the East River and eventually met up with the Manhattan group on 14th street.


Several protesters tried to create a more chaotic scene by pulling down trash cans and and breaking items, but the majority of the crowd was quick to clean up the mess and shout down the instigators.


Graffiti was sprayed onto walls and police cars, some glass was broken and paint splashed onto the windows of some bank.



Gathering in Brooklyn was announced as an event without organizers or leaders, Autonomous protest. Gathering in Manhattan was a black women led March.



During the march a few people acted on their anger, but there was always a group who would quickly stop them and /or clean up afterwards.
