Two people were injured in the fire on September 1, 2020 at 470 Lenox Ave in Harlem.

Firefighter Brian Quinn was lowered from the 17th floor by rope to the woman who clung tightly to the window. Quinn attempted to pull her up but she was not willing to let go of the side of the building. Instead, then, Quinn stayed with her in the side of the burning tower, telling her not to jump and reassuring her that everything will be okay.

Eventually, the smoke cleared and they were able to move.
“I tried to calm her down and talk to her saying it will be safer if she goes inside the apartment,” said Brian Quinn. He added, “I didn’t want to see anybody fall, that’s all I cared about.”
