Protests hit New York streets after police shot unarmed Black man in Wisconsin

The people of New York gathered to protest throughout New York City for the shooting of Jacob Blake on Monday. (August 24)

Blake was shot in the back seven times by an officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin over the weekend.

About 500 protesters gathered in Times Square, marching downtown along 7th Avenue chanting and holding signs.

The protesters then marched down Broadway and to City Hall, then over the Brooklyn Bridge and to Park Slope 78th precinct.

On Tuesday afternoon (August 25th) a smaller group gathered in Union Square for a vigil. They expressed their anger, concern and chanted together for Jacob Blake.
