NEW YORK, N.Y. – August 1, 2020: As anti-fascist marchers in New York City turned south onto 6th Avenue from W14th Street, the driver and passenger of a vehicle caught in the pedestrian traffic emerged from the car and deployed pepper-spray at demonstrators.
New City Police officers responded to the scene and called for an ambulance after at least one demonstrator was injured by the spray.
The injured demonstrator said he was attempting to de-escalate the confrontation and could be seen earlier in the video asking onlookers to disperse.
