Tensions rise on the night of the budget hearing at Occupy City Hall Autonomous zone in NYC. Hundreds of people block all access to the zone and had stand offs with the police. On the previous night, early morning, NYPD Pushed in to take down the surrounding barricades and arrested two people.
Group demands that NYPD be defunded by 1 Billion, the hearing was this day and the bill passed just after midnight, defunding NYPD by 1 Billion Dollars.
The protests continued through the night and the zone is still currently occupied.
