New York City’s first Black Lives Matter mural unveiled on Brooklyn street

June 14 2020 – BROOKLYN, New York: Outside of the Billie Holiday theater at Restoration Plaza in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a giant mural reading, “Black Lives Matter” was unveiled at 9am.
Council member Robert Cornegy, Jr led the unveiling with a heart-melting song by Brooklyn artist, Marcelle Davies-Lashley.
Members of Restoration Plaza then added another coat of paint and are preparing to add the names of those killed within the letters of the mural.
