NYC opened 21 miles of open streets in New York City during the Pandemic

May 14 2020 – JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens, NY: 12 more miles of open streets have been opened today across NYC, bringing it to the total to nearly 21 miles. We visited open streets in Jackson Heights Queens and observed many people and kids ride bikes, have a picnic right in the middle of the street, enjoy food, kids playing games and adults enjoying a jog.

Most appeared to follow social distancing and most wore masks.
