Vigil for Rapper Kiing Shooter Spills into Queensbridge Park Prompting Shutdown and Arrests

May 05, 2020 – QUEENS, New York:
A large vigil was held at the Queensbridge Houses today.
William Daniels, aka Kiing Shooter, died this week following medical issues while being hospitalized. He was recently signed to Nas’ label, Street Dreams Records.

Police arrived to disperse the crowd of about 50 people around 2pm, eventually calling for backup. The crowd that had gathered slowly and peacefully dispersed. This reporter overheard police then tell the crowd to to move to Queensbridge Park, not far away.
The police blocked the entrances to the park and allowed the vigil to take place inside for about an hour. After the hour had passed, this reporter witnessed 3 females being led out of the park in handcuffs and loaded into police vans while screaming and kicking. The NYPD then used the loudspeakers to announce that these gatherings are against the law and to disperse the crowd.

We are not aware what, if any, charges were brought against those arrested.
