UAlbany Uses 3D Printers to Help Meet the COVID-19 PPE Shortage.
As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in New York, students, faculty and staff at the University of Albany are taking initiative to help meet shortages in personal protective equipment (PPE) for hospital personnel and other first responders across the state.
Design of the shield allows for workers to sterilize and re-use, protection for aerosols coming over top of shield.
They delivered close to 700 shields in a matter of weeks, 47-50 volunteers are working on this project right now.

Shields are delivered to Albany Medical Center, Albany medical professionals, ambulance service on campus.
