4/20 Weed Party Busted by Cops in Manhattan for Breaking Orders amid Pandemic

April 20 2020 – FLATIRON DISTRICT, Manhattan, New York:
Police broke up an illegal party on 23rd street on the 2nd floor of 20 West 20th Street.

NYPD officers were flagged down by a citizen to what seemed like a large crowd at a West 23rd street building. Party-goers were seen leaving the premises, some covering their faces, with summonses, or in some cases, handcuffs.


At least 3 people were arrested after what one party-goer referred to as a “social distance event.” One person was seen peaking out of the window the 2nd floor, which had a sign that read “Blink.”

Inside, police say they found 40 people at a weed party, hosted by a marijuana edibles company “Ganja Pigs.”

They found a duffel bag of Marijuana, edibles, THC, and other paraphernalia.

Person interviewed described the event as a Social Distancing Holiday Party.
NYPD vehicles with lights flashing filled both sides of 23rd street near the Flatiron building as detectives walked in an out of the unassuming building.

38 people received summonses for trespassing, five people received summonses tied to the marijuana.

Two people had previous warrants for failing to appear for non-violent offenses, one person was arrested in regards to a previous investigation for burglary, a police official said.
