USNS Comfort Arrives in New York Bringing Hope

March 30 2020 – MANHATTAN, NY: The Navy Hospital ship, USNS Comfort arrived to applause and cheers today at Pier 90 in Manhattan. A crowd gathered to watch the massive ship arrive, holding signs and cheering. Coast Guard helicopters swooped low overhead as the giant vessel docked, with help from dozens of masked National Guardsmen and crew. It was a grand entrance and a welcome one for this ship, which has been anticipated by New Yorkers for over a week.

Press’s searched was checked upon entry to pier 90 and temperatures were tested. It left Virginia before the weekend, cast off before President Trump who waved at the saluting soldiers on board. The vessel will treat the overflow of patients from NYC hospitals who do not have COVID-19.
