Hero MTA Worker Killed in Subway Fire While Saving 16 Others

March 27, 2020 3:24 AM HARLEM, Manhattan, New York: Underneath Lenox Ave and W 110th Street, a northbound 2/3 Train was reported on fire on the tracks .

The fire swiftly escalated to all hands and then to 2 Alarm, 25 vehicles and more than 100 fire personnel responded. Total of 10 injuries including one 36-year-old victim who was initially reported in cardiac arrest, but was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital. Three civilians were critically injured and 5 FDNY members injured.

FDNY called the fire marshals to investigate the fire as suspicious and then reported that the person who set the fire was still on scene.
