2 NYPD Officers Shot in the Bronx in 12 Hours

NYPD lieutenant was shot Sunday morning in the Bronx, just 12 hours after two officers were ambushed by a gunman in the same precinct.

Both officers are expected to survive. The officer shot this morning is a veteran lieutenant with 15 years with the NYPD.

He was shot in his arm and is expected to recover fully. Police are confident that the gunman who shot inside the Bronx precinct this morning also opened fire on two officers on patrol in the Bronx last night. The alleged gunman who shot up an NYPD station house in The Bronx early Sunday has been identified by police sources as Robert Williams, a career criminal with busts including homicide. He reportedly walked into the 41st precinct headquarters and fired at officers.
