Police were chasing a suspect on a scooter for unknown reasons. The suspect was hit by the vehicle of an off-duty NYPD sergeant. The suspect was thrown over the front of the sergeant’s car, breaking the windshield and denting the roof. Damage was visible on the car upon this reporter’s arrival. The suspect was loaded into Mt. Sinai ambulance and removed. The scooter was loaded into NYPD vehicle.
