GRAND ARMY PLAZA, Brooklyn — December 29, 2019:

Mayor De Blasio was in Brooklyn to announce new public safety measures to protect our Jewish neighbors from hate and violence. He held a press conference alongside Letitia James, police Commissioner Dermot F. Shea and others at Brooklyn Public Library. They discussed the incident in Monsey, NY, as well as measures they plan to take to ensure the safety of the Jewish community in New York City in the wake of an increase in anti-Semitic hate crimes. Elected officials took the opportunity to denounce the hatred in the community but insisted that it will not be tolerated and that more steps will be taken to ensure safety going forward.
