Hong Kong Protest, Solidarity in New York City

UNION SQUARE, NEW YORK — December 9 2019:

A group of protesters marched in support of the Hong Kong protests chanting “5 demands, not one less” and “Free Hong Kong,” from Chinatown to Union Square. They made several stops along the way to spread the message and ask others on the street to join with them. Many of the protesters wore masks to protect their identities. The group eventually met with a gathering of other anti-China Communist Party groups including Free Taiwan and Free Tibet. Several people spoke to the crowd from different groups, and all called attention and demanded the end of the detention of Uighur Muslims in China.
