Shots Fired near NYU School in Downtown Brooklyn, Cops on a Hunt for Teenagers in Skimasks

October 4 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – Shots were fired near an NYU Campus in a busy Downtown Brooklyn area on Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at around 10:30 a.m. near 3 MetroTech Center, which is near NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering.

NYU Campus safety sent out an emergency message: “Run, Hide or Fight. Others stay away”.

Police are on the hunt for what they described on scanners as “10-15 possible teens in ski masks who fled the area”.

Additional reports of a stabbing at Jay Street MetroTech subway station just a couple blocks away, where police say a 15-year-old teen was stabbed shortly after the shooting.

Cops say approximately 10-15 teens approached the teen near Willoughby and Jay streets at around 11 a.m., then slashed on the right side of his face.

No injuries reported from the shooting at this time. This story is developing.
